המין T. x vulgaris (המוכר גם תחת השם T. x europaea) הינו הכלאה טבעית בין המינים T. cordata ו-T. platyphyllos.
פרחי התרזה גדלים על עץ נשיר גבוה. מוצאו באירופה.
תרזה נחשבת לצמח עדין, בעל פרופיל בטיחות גבוה, המקובל לטיפול גם בילדים.

רכיבים פעילים עיקריים
פלבונואידים (kaempferol, quercetin, myricetin, hesperidin, astragalin, tiliroside), פנולים (caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, p-coumaric acid), פוליסכרידים (כ-3%), סאפונינים, טאנינים דחוסים, שמן נדיף (0.02-0.1% מסך הצמח; כולל אלקנים, מונוטרפנים וססקוויטרפנים), סטרולים.

לחץ דם גבוה, חום גבוה, סטרס (לחץ), חרדה, שיעול, מיגרנות, הפרעות שינה.
